An impact screen stops the ball and shows the projected image. Screen size sets the projector distance, and the weave affects image sharpness, noise and bounce-back.

Planning notes
Plan the room around the frame, then check the projector distance for the screen shape.
| Check | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|
| Width | Frame width + about 6 in each side |
| Height | Frame height + space to assemble; the ceiling must also clear your swing |
| Depth | Screen gap (8–12 in) + 8–10 ft to the ball + about 4.5 ft behind it |
| Projector | Short-throw lenses mount about 5–8 ft from a 10–12 ft wide 4:3 screen |
Use the room size calculator with your launch monitor to confirm depth.
