Projectors
For a simulator, the projector has to fill a squarish screen from a position where the golfer won't cast a shadow or hit it. Throw ratio and native aspect ratio decide that; lumens decide how it looks.
Short-throw projectors (throw ratios around 0.5–0.9) usually hang from the ceiling a few feet in front of the golfer, out of the swing and shadow. Standard-throw models sit further back and suit long rooms or commercial bays.
Each product page works out the lens-to-screen distance and on-screen brightness for five common simulator screens, including how much of a 16:9 frame lands on a 4:3 screen.
